| XML Attribute Scanner Released - Tuesday, June 02, 2009XML Attribute Scanner is the newest addition to the ever growing family of Multilizer scanner plug-ins. As many XML-based file formats contain data mostly in attributes (or even only in attributes), a new scanner was designed and optimized for such cases.
XML Attribute Scanner allows the user to define which attributes contain localizable data. Furthermore, localizable data can be identified by not only its name but also by other attributes or the pertinent element name.
Multilizer now features four scanner plug-ins for the localization of XML files, each of them optimized for different flavors of XML. Three of the scanners - XML Scanner, Dita Scanner and XML Hyper Text Scanner - are intended for the localization of of XML files where the element values are the localizable data. In contrast, as its name implies XML Attribute Scanner intended for the localization of attributes. As Multilizer provides separate scanners for differents XML file types it eliminates the need for complicated scanner configurations: localization is straightforward with the right scanner.

| Multilizer enhances compatibility with Delphi/C++Builder software - Monday, January 19, 2009Multilizer tools already support the localization of Delphi/C++Builder executable files. The new Delphi/C++Builder Source Scanner brings support also for the localization of Delphi/C++Builder source code. It is a Multilizer scanner plug-in that is intended to be used together with the Multilizer localization components that enable, for example, switching software language run-time.
Delphi/C++Builder Source Scanner scans Delphi/C++Builder projects and extracts the strings to localize from the source code. The output is a dictionary file that contains all translations and can be used by the Multilizer Localization Components. The file can be used even in the older versions Multilizer 4 and Multilizer 5, thus enhancing backward compatibility.
This plug-in can be configured to extract either all strings and their respective comments in the source code or only those that are tagged. Furthermore, it can extract strings from the compiled executable file and any number of strings may be added manually.
Delphi/C++Builder Source Scanner supports both ANSI and Unicode projects types and it covers Delphi versions from Delphi 2 through Delphi 2009 and also C++Builder versions from C++Builder 1 through C++Builder 2009.
Please refer to http://support.multilizer.com/docs/scanners/multilizer_delphi-cppbuilder_scanner.pdf for more information about the new plug-in. read more ...

| Multilizer now supports Rave Report localization - Friday, January 02, 2009The support for localizing Rave Report files is included in Multilizer's RaveScanner -plug-in. The scanner plug-in reads Rave Report files (*.rav) and extracts the translatable texts from them. Once the translation is finished, RaveScanner plug-in allows the creation of localized files.
Reporting can be one of the most complex, yet most important tasks for anyone dealing with a database; thus the process of localizing existing Rave Report files with Multilizer, instead of remaking them from scratch, constitutes a remarkable benefit for the users.
The localization process is highly configurable in order to meet the customers’ needs. For making a general idea, notice that a Rave Report file contains one or more reports, each of the reports contains one or more pages, and each of the pages contains components with localizable texts. As each component may have several text items of different types Multilizer allows the user to configure for each component type the types of text items that are going to be localized.
Please refer to http://support.multilizer.com/docs/scanners/multilizer_rave_scanner.pdf for more information about the new plug-in. For more information about Rave reports, see http://www.nevrona.com/.

| Multilizer improves translation process with intuitive Menu Editor - Friday, October 10, 2008Multilizer's enhanced Menu Editor allows users to localize menu resources in a Windows 32bit Portable Executable application using a visual and intuitive approach, instead of using traditional Translation Grid functionalities. The new features in Menu Editor provide considerable benefits for the end users. For instance, automated hotkey validation detects and highlights conflicting hotkeys in two or more captions in the menu. In this way the users can fix conflicting hotkeys easily. This validation feature makes the translator process safer and easier. Users can also check the translation status by just taking a look at the caption colors: in this way the users always know what is done and what is not. Furthermore, this feature prevents the users from forgetting to translate some menu captions accidentally. read more ...

| Multilizer now supports spell checking in up to 92 languages - Thursday, September 04, 2008OpenOffice spell checker allows the users of Multilizer to improve their translation processes by checking the spelling of translated text. When the spell checker is enabled, the text (being translated) becomes underlined with red if spell check fails. This way, the user can easily correct mistakes in the translated text if needed. A remarkable feature of the spell checker is that it includes as many languages as the OpenOffice local installation supports. It handles up to 92 different languages with variations, depending on the OpenOffice installation. Multilizer enables full utilization of OpenOffice dictionaries across all translation work: when a dictionary is edited in OpenOffice, all changes are immediately reflected in Multilizer’s spell checker in all the file formats that Multilizer supports. Multilizer expands the scope of OpenOffice spell checker as it can be used in the localization of the almost 30 file formats that Multilizer supports, for example XML-files, HTML-files, major software formats including .NET, Delphi, and C++Builder and naturally also OpenOffice-documents. Visit http://www.multilizer.com/scanners for an extensive list of supported file formats. Using the OpenOffice spell checker in Multilizer 2007 is easy; just installing OpenOffice is required. | Easy automation using Multilizer’s command line tool and templates - Thursday, June 12, 2008Localization involves several recurring tasks. Multilizer's command line tool, ML7Build, is used to automate such tasks and it can be programmed to perform complex tasks with a single script. Writing the automation scripts is greatly simplified by using settings saved in the graphical user interface.
Automating recurrent localization tasks provides two advantages. First, performing tasks automatically saves time. Secondly, automating the process guarantees that they are performed exactly the same way every time thus making it possible to implement company policy and minimize the risk of error.
Multilizer 2007 Enterprise Edition ships with the ML7Build command line tool. To facilitate the automation process, Multilizer 2007 introduces the possibility of saving settings in templates for recurrent tasks, such as adding localizable files, importing and exporting translations, creating reports, checking the quality of the translations, and building localized files: once the appropriate settings for the various actions have been defined using the graphical user interface, they can be saved as a template and be used repeatedly in the command line tool. For example, the validation settings can be saved in a file thus making it easy to run the validation part of the process. | Multilizer enhances translation quality, pays attention to smallest details - Tuesday, October 09, 2007Multilizer, leader in translation and localization software, has released a new translation quality validation system. Multilizer automatically catches over 30 most common translation errors and is able to catch also errors that even well-trained translators can´t find in reasonable time. Catching the translation errors at the earliest possible stage improves quality and saves time and money.
Multilizer´s configurable translation validation system goes into smallest details. Multilizer´s most detailed automatic checks are:
-
translations contain characters that are not available in the target computer system and thus can´t be displayed correctly
-
the translation contains correct punctuation characters also in Far-Eastern languages
-
numbers are correct in the translation. Multilizer is able to recognize e.g. Japanese month names and correctly exclude them from validations.
Multilizer lets the user configure the importance of each translation validation and comes with several pre-defined sets of recommended validation priorities and settings. Thus the automatic quality checks catch the desired issues and don´t give false alarms.
Multilizer´s automatic validations focus translators´ time and attention in actual translation work. read more ...
